The single most imortant decision a mother can make is to develop her own life with God. Unless she nurtures herself spiritually first, she will have no base from which to have a positive spiritual influence on her children. Scripture reveals God's agenda for making a spiritual impact on our children: We must begin with ourselves; then we must teach our children. In DEUTERONOMY 6:6-7, God first tells parents, "There are commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts." Then he says, "Impress them on your children."
